We are NOT idiots. It's become increasingly apparent that the McCain campaign philosophy is "leak it out there, then denounce it". Things are getting pretty ridiculous as we approach November 4th, and old school Rove-ian techniques are a daily occurrence. I don't care if Rove is mumbling crap about McCain's campaign crossing the line; he's trying to make sure he keeps a job as "top conservative strategist"...or goes down in history as merely speculated as having been a blood thirsty, unscrupulous, evil election stealer.
Once McCain's campaign officially implodes and becomes a distant memory, Rove has to make himself seem like he was not involved, or pretend that he didn't personally train the idiots that think it's okay to send out robocalls telling voters Obama is a terrorist - at least if he plans to stay on as a Fox News contributor (I just threw up a little in my mouth).
The fact is, the very man that did the same heartless, cold blooded, underhanded, dishonest crap to John McCain in 2000 and John Kerry in 2004, is the root of McCain's strategy. Instill fear, lie about your opponent, and alienate people - even your own people, so that they vote against their best interest. It's ridiculous really, especially up against such a well-oiled machine that's working without using those tactics.
On Thursday, the McCain camp pushed this fuck tard, pathological liar Ashley Todd's story about being beaten by a big "dark black" man. An Obama henchman that stole her 60 dollars and showed her what supporting McCain would do - leave her bruised, beaten, and penniless. HAHA - I just recognized the symbolism in that. Anyway, she proved her ignorance, and more ignorant shit is coming to the surface about this girl. Nonetheless, McCain's campaign pushed this story. Trying to manipulate the public, and it bit them in the ass. These robocalls about Bill Ayers surfacing in battleground states. And now, a terrible, despicable, reprehensible, utterly insane email linking Obama to the Holocaust. Essentially, this morning is no different from the last 30 days, as Rove-ian political campaigning becomes the nail in the coffin. And so, the third time's NOT the charm, and people are sick and tired of watching good candidates have to endure meaningless fear-mongering from these FAKE conservatives ("neo-cons") that manipulate the religious right, racists, bigots, and poor morons to jump on their bandwagon.
As reported by Forbes online, there have been emails going around to Jewish voters in Philadelphia warning them that a vote for Obama would lead to another Holocaust. The email says that it was paid for by the Republican Federal Committee of PA and includes a horrifying comparison of Obama and Hitler. Yes, people, Adolph Hitler. From the email:
"Many of our ancestors ignored the warning signs in the 1930s and 1940s and made a tragic mistake. Let's not make a similar one this year!"
I'm completely dumbfounded, you guys. They really have the nerve to use one topic that I thought was just completely untouchable in this country. For political purposes. Though, I suppose it has been used this way for years. But really? John McCain resembles the fascist. Not Obama.
Regardless, all you get afterward is the typical McCain response - basically, we had nothing to do with it, the staffer that did it was immediately fired (just late enough for him to have clicked "send"), we denounce/repudiate/poop on/cower behind the words of that one person/organization/rally attender/those people, and we're just as outraged and surprised as you are/we didn't even mean it that way, you're reading too much into it. Yet, all of this comes after it's already happened. After they've orchestrated the most egregious act of the campaign. One of the most egregious acts, at least. And this is the campaign strategy. Get it out there, no matter how awful and gross, then pretend you had nothing to do with it, but accept the fallout as fair votes. Hopefully the email recipients are more intelligent than the McCain campaign thinks they are. I'm confident in their intelligence. And obviously so is Obama, because he didn't stoop so low as to send out an uninformed, ignorant email just to squeeze out fear votes.
Last night, I was mortified to see these children in Colorado waiting in line to attend a Palin rally being to act like monkeys and say they "don't want no monkey president". What's happening America?
John McCain should really be ashamed. I couldn't comprehend being so deep in a political race, that I'm willing to pander to the most vile part of the human brain.
